The Big Little Book of Magick

(Barry) #1

Generally, the movements will be the same for all
your pendulums, but on occasion you will find a
pendulum that will not respond in the usual manner.
Therefore, it is very important that you discover which
movements mean what before you begin working.

Sometimes the code appears to become embedded in
the pendulum itself by the person who uses it. In cases
such as this, if another person uses the pendulum, it will
not respond if the expected movements are different
from the new user's code.

When you do move on to asking questions, keep in
mind that you should never concentrate on the answer
you want the pendulum to give because you will not get
a truthful answer if you do. Instead, try to keep an
expectant attitude, such as "I wonder what the answer
will be?" The question must be phrased in such a way
that the only answers will be Yes or No. You cannot ask
a pendulum "either-or" questions.

You should respect very standard ethics. Do not lower
yourself to using the pendulum to snoop on another
person or harm her/him in any way. The private lives of
others are none of your business. You should not use
your pendulum to pry into the affairs of others, no more
than you would open their mail or tap their telephone
lines. The same ethics apply if another person wants you
to ask your pendulum such questions.

With Yes or No answers to questions, it is easy to
work your way through a series of questions until you
get the proper and sometimes unforeseen answers to the
questions you wish answered. Never expect a particular
answer, or you will not get the truth. By asking a series
of questions, you can determine whether it is the right
question to ask, the correct solution you are seeking, or
whether your goal is something you should abandon.
