Dana White, King of MMA

(Sean Pound) #1

I went to the District Attorney’s office and told them I wanted Dana’s case
separated from the other two boys’ cases. The first person I spoke with said that was
not going to happen and just would not budge on the issue or reduce the charges.
However, the day the boys were to appear in court I went to the courthouse early, I
spoke with one of the attorneys from the prosecutor’s office and worked out a deal to
separate Dana’s case from the other two boys’ cases. I also got them to throw out
most of the charges once I explained what had really happened. The final charge was
changed to a misdemeanor. When the third boy’s mother found out I had worked out
this deal for Dana, she threw a fit and eventually got the same deal for her son.
The prosecutor who originally refused to separate the cases was not happy when
he found out I had worked out a deal. There was little anyone could do at that point
because Dana’s case had already gone before the judge and been decided. I was not
mad at Dana for that one either. I believed the three boys when they told me they did

from home a couple of times, and he would end up at our house. His father found out
the boy was staying with us, and he called one night to say he would have me
arrested if his son spent one more night in my house. I felt terrible, but I had to tell
the young man that he had to go home. Eventually he turned to drugs in a big way,
and later he committed suicide.
Our home in Las Vegas looked like a small cottage from the front. It was a one-
story house, and when you first came in the double front door, there was an entry
with a built-in bench. If you turned right, you went into the living room, and turning
left brought you into a short hallway that led to the kitchen and then through the
dining room and into the TV room at the back of the house. At the back of that room
were sliding glass doors that led to the back yard.
One evening, I was sitting in the back room watching television, and out of the
corner of my eye, I noticed something run across the floor. I was not sure what it was,
but I HATE spiders and there are lots of spiders in Las Vegas, and some very big ones. I
was worried it was some enormous arachnid in the room with me, and I could not
watch the television anymore. I was too worried about what I saw and where it had
