Downstream

warning to swimmers that
there’s an underwater hazard
between here and the
foreshore. I’m told we will
swim out to the last pole, go
round it, and then turn left
towards the Crowstone. The
route on the way there will be
easier than the return trip, as
to begin with we will have
the tide in our favour. As we
set off the water is choppy
and there is a strong swell
