Cinnamon


Inner bark of laurel tree, comes in stick or powder. Great in hot
drinks, with apple pies, when making tomato ketchup. The sticks
are tasty to chew on. An antiseptic that helps upset stomachs.


Cumin

A Mediterranean native that is very versatile.


Dill


Looks like anise, but with its own unique flavour. Use from small
dill plants. The fruit seeds are used in pickling and on vegetables.
A good digestive, breath freshener and appetite stimulator.


Fennel


Easy to grow, used in Italian food and for making tea. Fennel
helps to counteract heartburn.


Garlic


Bulb of plant is a popular addition to most dishes, especially when
eaten raw. To calm down the effects of garlic on the breath, chew
on some parsley. With strong antiseptic properties, garlic can be
grown in any garden.


Ginger


This fresh or dried stem is a pungent spicy addition to stir fries, hot
drinks and is also used in biscuits. Helps aid digestion.
