Hemp

40g hemp seed, ground


50g almonds, ground or cashews, ground


2 tbsp sunflower oil


1/2 tsp vanilla essence (try not to use the flavouring)


2 tbsp maple syrup, brown rice syrup or raw honey,


150ml water, hemp milk or even orange juice


Optional flavourings (nutmeg, cinnamon)


Place all ingredients in blender until smooth. Chill and serve.


Hemp and almond ratio can be adjusted as required. Use
other nuts and seeds for variation. This is truly delightful living
food recipe which is great as a fruit topping.

450g sweet, unsalted, BSE free, organic butter


175g hemp oil


In a heavy saucepan, heat butter over medium heat. Continue to
cook at medium heat until it starts bubbling. Just before it is done,
milk solids will collect on bottom of pan. After about 15 minutes
add the hemp oil. After 15-20 minutes the liquid will be clear and
become very quiet - quickly take it off the heat before it burns (it is
important it does not foam and turn brown). Cool for five minutes.
