'A glass of wine has fewer calories than a slice of white
bread'

Populations in countries with a higher consumption of red wine
compared to other alcoholic drinks experience a lower incidence
of cardiovascular disease. Most statistics can be twisted, but this
one is true so you can, guilt free, enjoy a glass of red wine now
and again. Moderation is the key. Remember that any wine that
does not state that it is organic on the label will contain unknown
chemicals which mean unknown effects. Alcohol can remind us
that we are human; it can help introverted people 'come out of
themselves'. Be aware that most wines are not vegetarian or
vegan. Most are made with fish refines and lots of chemicals -
particularly sulphur, which is also found on most dried fruits unless
otherwise stated. Recently excess sulphur has been shown to
cause bowel related diseases including bowel cancer. There are
alternatives: make your own or buy from an organic wine supplier
that marks whether they are vegan, vegetarian, organic,
biodynamic etc. See resource section. Moderate use of alcohol
(particularly red wine) can be beneficial in delaying the onset and
reducing the effects of arteriosclerosis. Drink red wine with protein
foods such as roasted hemp seeds and/or cheese.
