CHAPTER LXXXIV.
Chapterwherebyone assumeth the formof the Hernshcnv. (1)
Thouwhoholdestthe bound victims; ye knives overtheirheads
and locks andfleeces; (2) ye aged andbright oneswhoare armed
withthe fated moment.
I come to heaven but I strike uponthe earth ; and conversely.
It is my power whichproducethvictoryandraiseththe height
of heaven,andI make the lustrations whichyieldthe extentof earth
to my feet against the sinful citiesas I advance and cut in pieces (3)
thosewhoare involved in rebellion. (4)
I leave the gods upontheirpaths but I strike the VVakers who
are in their coffins.
I know not Nu, I know not Tatunen, I know not the Red ones
whentheybringoppositionto me.
I know not a Word of Power to whose utteranceI listen.
I am the Red Calfuponthe tablets.
Thisis what the gods say when theyraisetheirvoice.
Let yourcountenancesbe without restrainttowardshim who
comethto me.
The morning dawns are independent of you, ye have not the
chargeof them ; but my alternations are in my own hands. I say
not the wrong insteadof the right.
Dayafterday unswervingly turnethbackuponmy eye-brow.
And Evening is the beginning of my voyage to celebrate the
solemnityof the Reclining and the Embrace of the Aged onewho
hathchargeof the Earth.
