5.Use the ruler to measure and mark the cen-
ter of each 2” piece of copper wire. Use the
ruler to measure and mark G” increments
up and down all of the 2” copper wires. This
will be where you stamp the copper wires.
6.After marking the wires, place them onto a
hard, flat surface. You can use a piece of
masking tape on the ends of the wires to
hold them in place. Place the end of the flat
screwdriver onto the marks that you made
on the copper wires and firmly strike the top
of the screwdriver once with the hammer.
You do not want to strike the screwdriver too
hard; this will make the wire too thin and
brittle. Do this to all of the marks that you
made on all five copper wire pieces. If the
copper wire pieces become curved, just turn
them over on the hard, flat surface and gen-
tly tap them with a hammer to straighten
them. Set these aside.
7.Place the round discs onto a hard flat surface.
You can use masking tape on the edges of
the discs to keep them in place while you
stamp them. Select a nail set punch. (These
are inexpensive and can be purchased at any
home improvement store. They usually come
in sets of three sizes; mix up the sizes or
choose just one size to stamp your circles.)
