6.Put on the safety glasses. Place the fish shape
onto a hard, flat surface and put the point of
the awl on the marks that you made^1 ⁄ 16 ”
from the edge of the fish shape. Use a ham-
mer to firmly strike the top of the awl once
to make pilot holes for drilling holes into the
fish shape.
7.Using a^1 ⁄ 16 ” drill bit, drill holes into the fish
shape using a handheld rotary tool, flex
shaft, or drill press (don’t forget to wear your
safety glasses).
4.The edges of the fish shape will be sharp
after you cut it out. Use a file to refine the
shape of the fish and to eliminate any sharp
corners or rough edges. After filing use a fine
grit sanding pad to go over the area where
you filed to smooth the edges and remove
any file marks.
5.Measure^1 ⁄ 16 ” from each tip of the fish shape
and place a mark where you will be drilling
the holes to attach the clasp and the three
3 I” pieces of silver chain.
