16.Open one oval jump ring, attach the clasp to
the end links of the three 3Iā inch pieces
of chain, and then close the jump ring. Next
open one oval jump ring, slide it through the
other end links of the 3Iā pieces of chain,
and then close the jump ring. Open one oval
jump ring and slide it through the hole at
one end of the fish shape and then through
the jump ring with the three pieces of chain
attached and then close that jump ring.
Open one oval jump ring and slide it through
the hole in the other end of the fish shape
and then close the jump ring. Attach four
jump rings to the jump ring that is at the
opposite end of the fish shape of the chain.
Before you close the last jump ring, first slide
the loop at the top of the pearl bead head
pin onto the jump ring.15.Hold the head pin wire with the beads on it
in one hand with the wire that you bent
pointing toward you. Using the round nose
pliers, grip the end of the head pin wire that
is pointing toward you and roll it away from
you. Release the pliers from the head pin
wire. You will still have an opening in the
loop, so grasp the head pin wire again and
roll the loop all the way closed. You can use
the round nose or chain nose pliers to adjust
the shape of your loop at the top of the head
pin if you need to. Set this aside.
To open and close jump rings,
use two pair of chain nose
pliers pointing up to hold the jump
ring with the opening at the top. Roll
one of your wrists away from you and
your other wrist toward you, opening
the jump ring only as much as you need
to. To close the jump ring, hold it the
same way and roll your wrists in the
opposite direction (think of holding a
piece of paper and tearing it). Never
pull the jump ring ends out, as this will
weaken the metal, and it will be diffi-
cult to close the jump ring.
