4. ADDING DEPTH & COLOR

Blend the colors carefully with your fingers or a blending tool to “fix” them onto the surface. Then

add layers of pastel to create depth and color. Working from dark to light intensifies the colors and

enables you to bring areas of bright light to your subject. Further blending is sometimes needed to

add more depth and additional layers of color.
