COMMENTS
Used to detect HAV in food & water.
1st serological marker to appear. Used to screen donor blood.
Pos should be confirmed by repeat testing & another assay
such as HBsAg neutralization or HBV DNA.
Indicates high degree of infectivity.
Predominantly IgG, which persists for life.
1st ab to appear. Useful for detecting HBV infection when
HBsAg is no longer detectable (“window period”). Used to
screen blood donors.
Ab that develops following immunization.
