Create a new event
Click on the Projects button
at the top. Click the + (Create New)
button. Choose Movie. This takes you
to the My Media workspace. Choose
File > New Event. Name the event so
you can identify its contents.
Import media
Click the Import Media button
(or choose File > Import Media). Browse
to the source of your clips, such as
a plugged in SD card or a folder of
files. Cmd–click on clips you want to
import, then click Import Selected.
Import safely
A circular progress icon shows
each clip is being imported into iMovie’s
library. Wait for all icons to disappear
before ejecting the SD card. Otherwise
you may see a “missing camera” icon
next time you open iMovie.
