One of the problems with using stabilising gimbals like the
Freefly MoVI Pro and DJI Ronin 2 with rigs that include a
matte box, monitor and mic is it takes a very long time to set
everything up and then disassemble it at the end of every
single shoot.
Tenba has introduced the CineLuxe Pro Gimbal Backpack
24 to simplify and speed up the whole process by enabling
the rig to be stashed with the camera still balanced on
the gimbal, and accessories attached. You simply need to
remove the ring, which can be fixed on the outside of the
bag using the velcro attachments.
The Gladstone-like design means there’s
a wide opening to get everything in,
and two adjustable straps hold the
contents in place. There’s also a
padded divider, two wraps and
a pouch to keep things safe.
Naturally, it’s a huge load, but
the straps are comfortable
and the time-saving
compensates for it.

This comfortable backpack weighs just
1.3kg, yet it has a capacity of 25L and
contains a removable camera insert that
can be carried on the supplied shoulder
strap or on a belt. The insert fits in the
bottom of the backpack and is accessed
via a zip. We managed to squeeze in a
Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 lens mounted
on an A7 III, with a 24-70mm f/2.8 lens
alongside. Alternatively, the Nikon D850
fits in with a 24-70mm f/2.8 mounted, and
there’s space for a second, smaller optic.
Above the camera insert there’s a
spacious unpadded compartment that
can hold essentials such as your lunch,
a fleece and a few accessories. This has
a drawstring closure, which means you
always seem to have room to squish in a
little more. There’s also space for a laptop
and a couple of pockets to keep your kit
organised.
