The Yummy team was invited to
a one-day exclusive cooking class
hosted by Kenwood Appliances
and CCA Makati. The Yummy
editors were tasked to create
pizza, pita bread, and pasta
from scratch, make sausages,
and more. The class was led
by Institut Culinaier Disciples
Escoffi er (ICDE) Instructor Chef
Bruno Tirel, one of the two
French chefs teaching the six-
month culinary program off ered
by CCA, which teaches students
to master cooking techniques.
The course provides a diploma
from the French Ministry of
Education.
The daunting tasks were made
much easier with the help
of several Kenwood kitchen
machines: The Kenwood Chef
Kitchen Machine with the
dough hook attachment did the
kneading for the pizza dough
and pita bread; the Kenwood
Titanium Chef Kitchen Machine
with Pasta Roller was used to
make large batches of pasta; and
the Kenwood Multi Food Grinder
made it easy to grind meat for
sausages.
The class was just a sampler of
the CCA-ICDE program which
accepts 24 students in each pilot
batch. The course is off ered at
the new CCA Makati campus on
H.V. dela Costa Street in Makati.
The course also includes practical
classes on restaurant operations,
from creating and expanding the
menu to facilitating paperwork
and permits.
