“When you’re a swing, you don’t have time to
panic,” shares the Broadway vet.

she smiles. “I feel so bad, because I’m
like, ‘Don’t touch Mommy! There’s a lot
of work that went into this!’”

I was an understudy to five people,
which means I needed to know fi ve dif-
ferent characters and five separate
scripts!” she explains with a
smile. “As a swing, you need to
be able to go on stage and do
any of those parts at any given
moment. I could get a call where
they say, ‘Hey, you need to be in
the lead of this Broadway show.’
And I had to be ready to jump in,
know what I was doing and not
be in anybody’s way! So to go
from that — with that kind of
pressure — to [a soap], it 100
percent helped me!”
