From 01/09/18 there will only be two types of Flying School in Australia.
Australian Pilot Training Alliance
Important notice to all Pilots training for a
Commercial Pilot Licence aer September 1st.
- Part 141 Schools delivering the 200 hour CPL Course.
- Part 142 Schools delivering the 150 hour CPL course.
Only 5% of Flying Schools are currently approved to deliver the 150 hour CPL aer 01/09/18.
Proudly, all APTA members are amongst that 5%, as we are a fully transitioned Part 142
Organisation.
If you are about to commence training for a Commercial Pilot Licence you should commence
at an APTA member school. That way you are assured of continuing access
to the 150 hour Integrated CPL aer September 1st.
If you are currently training on a 150 hour Integrated CPL course at another flight
training provider, you need to confirm with them what happens aer September 1st.
If they are not a fully transitioned Part 142 Organisation you will only have two options.
Transfer to a Part 142 School.
Remain with the Part 141 School but transfer to their 200 hour course.
Importantly there is no teach out clause. The rules commence on that day. You must have made
your decision by then.
