AMARA
WHAT IS IT? 390 feet of floating resort
designed by Sam Sorgiovanni for Dutch
builder Oceanco.
WHY WE LOVE IT The harmonious interior
and exterior create the ultimate retreat. The
contemporary décor employs warm, natural
materials that induce relaxation while such
amenities as a beach club with three-way sea
access, a waterfall cascading into the pool and
an open-air cinema make the most of the natural
elements. Owners have their own upper deck
apartment with a private plunge pool.
MULDER DESIGN 377FT
WHAT IS IT? A modern, elegant
displacement motor yacht drawn
around two key features: a heli
platform on the forward deck with
garage below, and a spacious beach
lounge at the stern.
WHY WE LOVE IT Mulder Design
developed the styling after determining
the necessary volume, which resulted
in a powerful forward-leaning profile
that looks striking from every angle.
Key features include a skylight in the
bottom of the pool that floods the
1,550 sq ft beach club with light.
MEGA 40 MY
WHAT IS IT? A particularly sleek
130ft rendition of the RPH design by
Enrico Gobbi and his Team for Design.
WHY WE LOVE IT The large
continuous windows are appealing but
it’s really the innovative top deck layout
that impresses the most. Behind the
wing-like arch inspired by aeronautical
styling is an enclosed sky lounge,
which opens fore and aft to create one
continuous space. Other fun features
are the water cascade at the stern and
the private spa pool on the foredeck,
with direct access to the owner’s suite.
OCEANIC (^45)
WHAT IS IT? Setzer Yacht Architects
reveals its 147ft explorer, the first in its
Oceanic Series.
WHY WE LOVE IT Designed to stand the
test of time, it features classically swept
styling while hard edges impart some
modernity. The main deck master suite has
options for a private lounge and balcony,
retractable awnings shade each deck and the
transom includes a cabana. Under 500GT, it
can be built in steel, aluminum or fiberglass.

RƒN
WHAT IS IT? A 223ft
autonomous semi-SWATH
design by Karel NGuyen, a
Delft University of
Technology student
interning at Guido
de Groot.
WHY WE LOVE IT
There’s no platform more
stable than a semi-SWATH
hull form, which also
provides space. Inspired by
a fictitious young client
who desires to spend time
with her family and give
back to society, Rén has a
social deck for parties, a
health deck and a lower
deck dedicated to marine
research. Diesel-electric
propulsion allows for fully
electric silent cruising.
