WHAT IS IT? An innovative transformer concept from Lukasz Opalinski.

WHY WE LOVE IT It is designed to be lightning fast under way (50 knots,

thanks to gas turbines). Then, when anchored, it delivers the ultimate beach

party. The aft deck’s bulwarks unfold, a hot tub is revealed and an umbrella

rotates out of the forward superstructure. But that’s not all; the tender garage

access is like nothing we’ve ever seen.

BENETTI NOW FAST

WHAT IS IT? The latest from the prolific Italian builder,

Benetti Now FAST is a 164ft to 262ft series that offers both

volume and speed. Omega Architects penned the exteriors,

Mulder Design did the naval architecture and Enrico

Gobbi – Team for Design created the interior concepts.

WHY WE LOVE IT These models have the aggressively

sporty style Omega is so good at, while Mulder’s hull gives

the comfort of similar-length displacement yachts but with

30 per cent more speed. The construction is also speedy –

the “Now” in the name means fast-track delivery.

WHAT IS IT? Horizon Yachts’ adoption of Cor D

Rover’s XL series, designed in collaboration with

Van Oossanen, gives the most length and deck space

possible in under 200GT.

WHY WE LOVE IT Staying under 200GT really

simplifies a yacht’s operations and lowers

construction costs. It also lightens the load, giving

swift speeds of up to 30 knots as well as efficient fuel

consumption and good range. Rover’s patented

DEPP adjustable-height pool is an intriguing option.

WHAT IS IT? A 150ft fast displacement yacht penned

by GYC by Frank Neubelt Yacht Designs for Turkish

builder Bilgin Yachts.

WHY WE LOVE IT Bold yet elegant, the exterior styling

reflects modern aesthetics. Highlights of the design include

a beach club aft of the transverse tender garage, a salon that

opens on three sides to the sea, an aft deck spa pool and

a touch-and-go helicopter pad at the bow. Hybrid propulsion

driving Voith Linear Jets gives 20 knots of speed.

LONG ISLAND COMMUTER

WHAT IS IT? An elegant 72ft speedster by

Gregory C Marshall Naval Architects,

commissioned by a couple who want to bring

the joy of boating back to their family.

WHY WE LOVE IT All aspects of this custom

design are driven by the style of a bygone era

coupled with the technology of today. With

lightweight carbon fiber construction and

twin 900hp IPS 1200s, top speed is 36 knots.

The best place to experience this is at the

“rumble seat” at the bow, racing up Long

Island Sound.

CARIBBEAN MONITO

WHAT IS IT? At 162ft, Monito is

the largest fast displacement yacht

in Dutch builder Moonen’s

Caribbean line.

WHY WE LOVE IT The gorgeous

pool on the foredeck doubles as a

tender bay, which means the coveted

space at the stern can be used for a

gym or spa. Owners get 645 square

feet of space on the main deck for

their suite, and fast displacement

means a top speed of 18.5 knots. It all

comes together at under 500GT.
