Tronixpro rig winders need very little introduction. Used by pleasure and
competition anglers, not to mention skippers, they have brought a level of
organisation to tackle boxes that was at one time only dreamed of.
Moulded from tough but lightweight EVA, the standard size of winder is
the 6.5 cm diameter version though a larger diameter “Jumbo” size is made as
well as a narrow version. Storage boxes and bags are also available. Pictured
here is the standard size in green, orange, yellow, blue and red along with the
storage box. Winders and box are available separately or as packages.
For 2017, some additional colours of winder have been introduced to
open up even more scope for colour coded organisation. The new colours
are grey, white, pink, aqua and black. All winders come complete with both
a pin to push through the swivel eye on the end of your trace or snood and a
self-adhesive sticker on which you can right details of the trace such as hook
size and line weight.

Lowrance has launched an intriguing new gadget for locating fish. Lowrance
FishHunter Pro and Lowrance FishHunter 3D wireless, castable transducers.
FishHunter is fish finding sonar for anglers that fish from stationary
locations, such as on a kayak or boat. Sending real-time sonar data via WiFi
connection between the transducer and Android and iOS phones and tablets,
FishHunter operates without the need for a cellular or internet connection.
Anglers cast the FishHunter transducer into the water and then view sonar
returns on their smartphone or tablet to decide where to fish.

into this new fish finding category to bring sonar technology to anglers.
With FishHunter 3D, three-dimensional sonar capabilities are now available
to the kayak, dock, bank, pier and ice fisherman.”
FishHunter Pro provides a 50m depth and WiFi range, and FishHunter 3D
offers a 50m depth and a 65m-foot WiFi range. FishHunter’s rechargeable
battery lasts for 10 hours of active use and 500 hours on standby.
FishHunter smartphone and tablet apps can be downloaded through
the Apple iTunes store for iOS devices and Google Play Store for Android
devices. The FishHunter app includes social features allowing anglers to
log catches, waypoints, follow friends and even live stream catches from
around the world.
