Since his rst trip to India in 1964
Howard Hodgkin visited the country
almost annually for over 50 years.
Celebrating the 2017 UK-India Year of
Culture Howard Hodgkin: Painting India
explores Hodgkin’s unique and sensory
relationship with this vibrant place plus
how it inuenced his artworks. Visitors
can expect to see everything from broad
landscapes depicting burning sunsets
and monsoon rains to intimate
portraits and collections of the artist’s
journals and photographs.
