are complemented with tables that have

Audio Specifi cati ons
To help translate the shareholders’ objecti ve
into reality, Willy Ong of G&J Capital was
brought in to advise, design, supply and
install the sound and light systems within the
venue space.

“The owners wanted high octane pumping
sound and that is what I set out to do. Aft er
narrowing down my opti ons and listening to
some demos, I was convinced that the KV2
speakers would be the right choice for the
venue and meet the owners’ objecti ves.”

As Titanium’s music is very much DJ driven,
the set-up makes the DJ console area the
focus of att enti on. The DJ console occupies
what would generally be the stage area (if
a band is performing) in the centre of the
venue facing the dance fl oor so that it is
viewable from almost all angles.

Willy confi gured the audio set-up with 2 x
KV2 ES1.0 hung and fl own on the left and
right of the stage. The ES1.0 is compact,
occupies a small footprint and features very
high output. The speakers are driven by 2 x
KV2 EPAK2500/R amplifi ers. Complementi ng
the system are 4 x KV2 ES2.6 subwoofers
that are placed on the ground, in front of
the stage and stacked as two on each side
of the stage. Together with the ES1.0 and
EPAK2500/R, the ES2.6 delivers one of the
highest dynamic range in comparison to

other systems, with new levels of clarity,
depth and resoluti on.

Though the focus lies in and around the
dance fl oor, there was sti ll a need to ensure
that the music also transmitt ed to the
seati ng areas, in keeping with the ambience.
To accomplish this, Willy installed 4 x QSC
KW122 acti ve speakers as delays. The KW122
packs 2 x 500-watt , Class D power into a
compact enclosure. “The KW122 helps fi ll the
venue with its 1000 watt s,” said Willy.

The 4 units are strategically placed around
the room with one unit placed at the stage
but facing the back of the dance fl oor. This is
to enable the sound to penetrate one VVIP
space that extends behind the right of the
stage.

There are also 4 x of QSC K10 speakers
that act as monitor speakers for the DJs.
Interesti ngly, Willie had two of the speakers
placed on the stage facing the dance fl oor.
“We just wanted to add further punch at the
dance fl oor.” (Not that it was needed!)

A 24-channel mixer together with a Pioneer
CD-J 200 Nexus and a Pioneer SR mixer and 2
x Shure Beta wireless microphones complete
the set up at the DJ console.

Willy added, “When the owners fi rst saw the
set-up they were scepti cal that the speakers
were suffi cient to provide the hard thumping
sound that they had envisaged. When
we drove the speakers at only 40% of its
potenti al, they were blown away with what
they heard.”
