observe that, in 2006–2010, the increasable amounts of SCI articles and CSCD

articles of DEA-inefficient universities are on the uptrend, the increasable propor-

tions of SCI articles and CSCD articles are in the downtrend, and the increasable

amounts of EI articles and Monographs arefluctuant.

(2) Analysis on the 985Us and Non-985Us

It’s observable from Table4.25 that, in 2006–2010, the five-year average

increasable amounts of Patents, EI articles, TOPESI articles, and Monographs in

DEA-inefficient 985Us are higher than those of non-985Us, but in 2006–2010, the

five-year average increasable proportions of SCI articles and CSCD articles of

985Us are lower than those of non-985Us. Thefive-year average increasable pro-

portions of Patents, EI articles, Monographs, TOPESI articles in DEA-inefficient

985Us are 38.64, 192.27, 2.09, 2.90 respectively, and those of inefficient

non-985Us are 15.59, 48.93, 1.04, and 1.66 respectively. Thefive-year average

increasable proportions of SCI articles and CSCD articles of DEA-inefficient 985Us

are 17.08, 7.77%, and those of non-985Us are 73.67 and 18.00%.

From Fig.4.15, we can observe that the increasable amounts of Patents and

TOPESI articles in both DEA-inefficient 985Us and non-985Us are on the slightly

growing trend. On the indicator of EI articles, the increasable amount of 985Us is

fluctuant, while that of non-985Us is on the slightly growing trend. On the indicator
