The Visayan war ty pig
is a species of wild boar from the
Philippines. While adult pigs are the
animal kingdom’s version of tribal
warriors ready for battle (complete
with “face paint”), you should see the
piglets! A lighter shade of brown than
their parents, they have hazel stripes
running down their little backs, making
them look like peanuts! The Visayan
war ty pig has been listed as critically
endangered, but conser vationists are
doing ever ything they can to keep this
species around. The world is a happier
place with these little bundles of joy in it.

With wide, brown eyes and long fingers
like frogs’ feet, this creature resembles
Gollum from the Lord of the Rings. But,
far from evil, the Philippine tarsier is a
tiny, lovable creature. It sleeps during
the day, but come nightfall, its eyelids
lift over its saucer-like eyes – which are
larger than its brain!
