collection of 148 precious
eggs from the Liechtenstein
National Museum. The
egg’s unique form and life-
giving symbol have inspired
artists and craftsmen,

porcelain eggs, Fabergé egg
pendants and other works
using materials ranging from
crystal to horn.

struggles for independence
as the starting point,
this exhibition features
works of photographers
and filmmakers from
Bangladesh and West
Bengal. Co-curated by
artists Sarker Protick and
Munem Wasif (Bangladesh),

project was first presented
at the 2017 Chobi Mela
International Festival of
Photography.

artist Arin Rungjang
presents a newly
commissioned video,
sound, photographic and
painting installation based
on the lives of a driver and
a musician, both in their
60s and 70s, as told to him
in a series of interviews.
Their stories are juxtaposed
with recordings of texts that
present events related to
Painting With Light:
International Festival of
Films on Art
This inaugural annual film festival by The National
Gallery Singapore features over 30 feature-length
and short films from over 25 countries, all aimed
at cultivating a stronger appreciation of art among
audiences. Highlights include Manifesto by Julian
Rosefeldt, which stars actress Cate Blanchett, and
China's Van Goghs by Yu Haibo and Yu Tianqi Kiki.
There will also be dialogue sessions with filmmakers,
public forums and a free daily programme of short
films exploring Southeast Asian perspectives called
Southeast Asian Shorts.
