Awareness Month
Put on a pink ribbon pin
in the month of October
to show your support for
patients and survivors of
breast cancer, as well as
to help raise awareness
about early detection and
breast screening. On Oct 7,
along with the Pink Ribbon
Walk (registration closed),
join the Pink Ribbon
Parade, which will feature
a spectacular display
of pink hummingbirds,
stilt walkers and “live”
performances. There will
also be an exhibition where
visitors can be inspired by
survivors’ stories about
their breast cancer journey.

The Malay Language
Council presents a myriad
of programmes and
activities to express the
versatility and vibrancy
of the Malay language,
culture and heritage. The
programme includes Gotong
Royong, where visitors
can be part of a “live”
batik drawing and painting
session; and My Silat –
Heritage and Culture, where
the history of silat is told
through photos and stories
of silat masters from the
early ’40s and ’50s. There
will also be activities such
as storytelling sessions,
theatre and dance
performances.
