THE INDIAN BILLI
Body: Medium strong boning,
strong muscles, rectangular format,
shoulder and hips are of even
length. Legs are medium long. Paws
are oval. Tail is as long as to reach
the shoulder, tapering to a fine tip.
Females are in general smaller and
more elegant than male cats.

Head: In good proportion to body,
forms a modified wedge with high
cheekbones and a mild whisker
break. Profile forms an angle at
eyebrow level and goes down to the

nose leather in an almost straight line.

A slight concave curve is allowed. Top

of head is flat. Chin is strong.

Ears: Set as much on the sides as

on the top with the width of one ear

between them. Ear tips showing

slighty to the side. Size is medium.

Eyes: Oval shape, slightly oblique set.

Eye colour of all shades from green to

golden. Blue and odd-eye colour for

white and white spotted cats.

Coat: Short with minimal undercoat

and firm to touch. All coat colours

are allowed with the exception

of Colourpoint, Burmese and

Tonkanese colour restriction. Ticked

tabbies with white are preferred.

WHAT IS THE ICF?

The Indian Cat Federation (ICF),

is a society formed by Shree Nair

(founder-president) in 2012 to

interact with pet cat owners, cat

breeders and cat lovers in India.

ICF is a member of the World Cat

Federation (WCF). The ICF’s aims

are essentially to bring cat owners

under one banner to look after the

affairs of cats, as per international

norms and issuing certificates of

breed and class. Educating cat

owners and breeders, supporting

activities for the betterment of

the cat population, conducting

exhibitions, meetings etc are

also on their agenda. Their aims

also include stopping cruelty to
