“It’s also an occasion that helps
brings a lot of perspective. You
realise real courage and bravery
happens in places like Alder Hey,
not on a football pitch.”
Over the years Alder Hey has
enjoyed a special relationship
with Liverpool FC, welcoming
several managers and lots of
players through its doors. Along
with the first-team squad, the
club's Academy squad and
Liverpool Ladies team regularly
visit wards too.
Alder Hey Children’s Charity
also works in partnership with
LFC Foundation, raising funds to
help young patients and their
families through special events
like the annual LFC Legends
match at Anfield.
