Goalkeeper who was an FA Cup
Finalist in 1975 and made 190
league appearances before joining
Hereford United in September
- Moving to Portsmouth in
July 1978, he later played for
Edmonton Drillers and has since
coached in the United States,
settling in Florida.
TERRY BULLIVANT
Deputised for John Cutbush in
the featured match. Played 101
league games before joining Aston
Villa in November 1979. Later
at Charlton Athletic, Brentford
and Maidstone United, he has
held various coaching posts, also
managing Barnet and Reading.
Now chief scout at Millwall.
ERNIE HOWE
Central defender who scored 10
times in 70 league outings before
joining Queens Park Rangers
in December 1977. Later with
Portsmouth, helping to win the
Division Three title in 1982/83,
he coached Wokingham Town,
then was Basingstoke Town boss
for 13 years before managing
Sutton United.
BOBBY MOORE
Central defender who skippered
England’s 1966 World Cup Final
triumph. He starred as Fulham
were FA Cup Finalists in 1975,
scoring once in 150 games.
Briefly player-coach of Danish
side Henning, he managed Oxford
City, Eastern AA and Southend
United. Died in February 1993.
LES STRONG
Left-back who was ever-present
skipper of Fulham’s 1981/82
promotion success. Scoring five
times in 373 league games, he
joined Crystal Palace in August
1983, then played for Rochdale.
Became Fulham’s catering
manager, then owned a pub in
Mitcham and is now a matchday
host at the Cottage.
GEORGE BEST
Legendary Northern Ireland
international who netted eight
goals in 42 league outings prior
to joining Fort Lauderdale
Strikers in June 1978. Later with
Hibernian, San Jose Earthquakes,
and AFC Bournemouth, he
worked in the media and
corporate hospitality until his
death in November 2005.
ALAN SLOUGH
Midfielder who played in the
1975 FA Cup Final and netted 13
goals in 154 league outings before
moving to Peterborough United
in July 1977. Later with Millwall,
Torquay United, Weymouth,
Yeovil Town and Minehead, he
became a window cleaner in
Paignton, also running soccer
schools.
JOHN EVANSON
Midfielder who netted five goals
in 95 league games while at
Craven Cottage before following
Alec Stock to AFC Bournemouth
in July 1979, then played for
Poole Town. Later worked in
the licensed trade and became
head of catering at a private
health and fitness club in High
Wycombe.
LES BARRETT
Winger who played in the 1975
FA Cup Final. Netted 74 goals in
423 league outings for Fulham
before moving to Millwall in
October 1977. Later with Woking,
Slough Town and Carshalton
Athletic, he worked for BT, then
helped his wife run a garden
centre in Earlsfield.
JOHN MITCHELL
Striker (pictured) who played for
Fulham in the 1975 FA Cup Final
and was three times top scorer,
netting 60 goals in 194 games
before joining Millwall in June
- Later a businessman, he
had two spells as manager of St
Albans City, becoming chairman,
before two stints as a Luton Town
director.
RODNEY MARSH
Ex-England international striker
who netted 27 goals in 79 league
games during two spells at
Fulham before rejoining Tampa
Bay Rowdies in March 1977.
Later became their manager,
then was a pundit for Sky Sports
until January 2005 and has
since appeared on several reality
television shows.
