1The door trimcard needsto be
removed. Start by fl ipping open the
endcovers on the door pull handle, and
remove thetwo screws and the handle.
Slide it out2Pull the door internalrelease handle
outward andremove theretaining
screw below it, then slide out the
escutcheon from behind.Making the best job
While doing this job, it’s worth replacing
the old hinge bolts with a newstainless
steelset.You may need spare doorcard
clips, too – theyoften break.
Window handle3Pry the window winder handleaway
from thecard, then(wearingsafety
glasses) use a thintool to release the
spring clip, and pull the handleoff.Removing thedoor cardFitting the hinge guardsLock button cover4Use a slim prytool to release the
door locking button trimcover, and
slide it up and outto remove it from the
door trimcard.Unclip5Using a trim prytool or similar,
carefullyrelease the door trimcard
from the door frame, this will be held in
positionby various clips.Lift away6With all clipsreleased, the doorcard
is lifted awayfrom the door frame
and upto clear the lock button. Trim clips
may needto be renewed.Easing oil7The hingeretaining nuts are now
visible. Before tryingto unbolt them,
it’s advisableto spray a good penetrating
oil on the bolt threads and nuts.One at a time8Unbolt just one door hingeat a time.
This willreduce any chances of the
door not aligningcorrectly whenyou refi t
the bolts later.
