IF YOU’VE EVER visited Louvre Abu Dhabi then
you’ve deÀnitely spent at least Àve minutes
staring at that incredible roof in amazement
and marvelled at the building itself as you’ve
walked around.
Seriously, the place is as beautiful as the
artwork on display inside.
Well, now there’s a new way to explore and
enjoy the museum’s impressive architecture,
from the waterways that weave in and out of
the buildings.
Watersports company Seahawk is running
one-hour tours on Fridays and Saturdays
between 10am and 5.30pm for Dhs120.
So, get on some waterproof clothes, slap on
the sun cream and get in the water to enjoy a
completely new experience of the Abu Dhabi
A new way to see the Louvre
landmark. Just don’t drop your phone in the
sea when getting pictures for Instagram.
While you’re in the area you can also check
out what’s on display inside the museum, but
it’s probably best to dry off Àrst.
This month there are
some great events and
exibitions running alongside
the usual displays, including
the Rembrandt, Vermeer
& the Dutch Golden Age:
Masterpieces from The Leiden
Collection and the Musée
du Louvre, which closes on
May 18. Other highlights
include the new exhibition of
some of the world’s Àrst-ever
photographs, Photographs 1842 – 1896:
An early album of the world, which opens on
April 25 and a live concert by French musician
Rodolphe Burger on April 25 and 26 called In
the Land of the Headhunters, in which he’ll
provide a live score for the
1914 Àlm of the same name.
