hub. CinemaNA - Contemporary Arab Cinema
Series, has already brought so many moving
and interesting Àlms to the capital.
The next screening in the Àlm festival also
takes place on April 29,
when heart-warming
drama Yomeddine is
brought to the
big screen.
Written and directed
by Abu Bakr Shawky,
the showing takes
place at Paris-Sorbonne
University Abu Dhabi
and the event is a
collaboration between
the two institutes.
The drama tells the
tale of a Christian, a
leprosy sufferer, and his road trip
across Egypt to Ànd his birth family
who abandoned him as a child.
He Ànds himself teaming up with
a ten-year-old Muslim boy and a
donkey along the way, and a series
of bizarre events soon follow.
Tickets for both Vitae and
Yomeddine are free of charge, but
you need to reserve a spot. Meanwhile, tickets
for Danser Casa are Dhs105 for adults, and
Dhs52.50 for young people aged 13 to 22.
