When Australian football royalty Tim Cahill
kicked of his fourth annual Ambitions Tour
earlier this year, his expectations were
high that he would discover a new crop
of amazing talent. He wasn’t disappointed.
From a group of 24 talented teenage
boys and girls, he picked two – 16-year-old
Brody Mackay and Taneesha Baker, 14
(pictured with Cahill) – to receive his
coveted scholarship, which includes
ongoing mentorship from the man himself.
“It’s always tough to pick two kids from
the Tour,” Cahill tells Foxtel magazine.
“Taneesha and Brody applied themselves
amazingly well over the whole camp and
really made the most of the environment.
For me, it was their application every day
and willingness to take every opportunity
they were given that really stood out.”
The chance to be mentored by one of
her heroes will help set Baker on the path
to achieving her dream.
“My goals are to go to a Matildas camp
and make the next World Cup,” she says.
“Knowing that Tim is mentoring me makes
me try that much harder.”
Similarly, Mackay has his sight set on
a career in the big leagues.
“To be chosen to play for my country is the
ultimate goal,” he says. “But I realise there’s
a lot to be accomplished before then.”

LEGENDS IN
THE MAKING
Meet the two lucky aspiring athletes who have
been taken under Tim Cahill’s wing
I have had Foxtel for three years and
my favourite shows are Supergirl,
Arrow, Gone and Shades of Blue.
My favourite channel is FOX Classics
- I have watched every Western
movie at least two or three
times, with Clint Eastwood and
John Wayne movies the best.
