questions about racism in football. I
think it is a really important
initiative, and it’s great how the
charity uses football to instil anti-
racism into the children.
Every year, I attend the One Stop
Shop in Swansea for White Ribbon
Day, which is an event that raises
awareness of issues such as
domestic abuse, sexual violence
and trafficking. The day is about
men and boys standing up against
violence against women, so I
attended to show that I support this
message.
I spoke to various people at the
event about the campaign activity,
as well as painting my hand to stick
to a banner to show that I am
supporting the event. It’s a great
event and I’m looking forward to
going back again next year.
Finally, I visited the residents at
Hengoed Care in Swansea. I took
part in a meet-and-greet with the
residents and enjoyed a
conversation with each of them.
There were many Swans fans
amongst them who had followed
the club from the early days, so it
was great to reminisce with them. A
lady there had just turned 100 and
she was proud to tell me that she
had received a letter from the
Queen.
The location of the care home is
lovely. The view is fantastic and it’s
nice for families to take their
relatives out to look at the view
whilst visiting. The care home was
covered in Christmas decorations
and really got me in the spirit.
After the meet-and-greet, I went out
on the care home’s minibus with afew of the patients. We did our own
version of carpool karaoke as we
sang Twist and Shout by The
Beatles, which was a lovely link to
my hometown of Liverpool.
Now we carry on with the busy
month getting out and about in the
community, so stay tuned for more
information.
Have a great day today everyone
and enjoy the game.
