G
ood afternoon
everybody/Prynhawn da
Pawb. The Academy had a
particularly busy November
and we have a very hectic games
programme scheduled for
December.
Landore has been a very busyenvironment throughout the first
half of the season and a big thank
you must go to the ground staff,
who have worked tirelessly to keep
our pitches in excellent condition.
The number of fixtures held at the
ground is always increasing, but the
facilities continue to lookoutstanding.
The under-23s have been involved
in a very competitive games
programme during the past few
weeks. The squad recently travelled
to the North East to play
Sunderland and Newcastle United.
The young Swans claimed a very
good 2-0 win against a very strong
and physical Sunderland side, with
the players producing a very
professional performance and
showing an excellent work ethic
throughout.
They then lined up against
Newcastle in the Premier League
Cup three days later. In very difficult
weather conditions, the lads worked
hard throughout before eventually
losing 6-3. However, the players
showed great character and will
learn some valuable lessons from
the experience.
Both players and staff have been
involved in a great deal of travelling
during the first half of the season
and have shown a very professional
attitude.
We played Charlton Athletic in the
Checkatrade Trophy this week,
while we must win against Athletic
Bilbao on December 20 to have an
opportunity of qualifying for the
quarter-finals of the Premier League
International Cup.
Our next league fixture is at home
against Manchester United on
December 11, but the group will
have a few days off over the
Christmas period and the
opportunity to recharge their
batteries.
Meanwhile, the under-18s playedTHESE FESTIVALS ARE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR OUR PLAYERS TO ACCESS
THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF GAME-TIME WHEN THEY ARE TRAVELLING LONG
DISTANCES AND HELP DEVELOP THEIR SOCIAL SKILLS IN THE PROCESS.
