Where did it go?
So maybe you didn’t follow through on
all those
New Year’s resolutions? I’m
guessing there are a fair few of us who meant well
and really felt committed at the time, but hey – life
simply got in the way.
I think the feeling of a brand-new year and
a fresh start inspires us all to want to do better. And
there is so much brilliant help and support available
at Slimming World for those who, deep, deep down,
long for a weight loss that is so much more than
a smaller clothes size. We are talking about not
only looking great and enjoying oodles of lovely,
heart-warming compliments, but feeling great, too.
Feeling proud of our achievements does absolute
wonders for our self-esteem and, maybe even more
importantly, developing new lifestyle habits. Habits
that mean we move better, sleep better, decrease
our risk of developing health problems like Type
diabetes and reduce our need for medication. Habits
that, although maybe not a personal priority but
a national one, mean we generally do our bit towards
helping out our struggling NHS by becoming much
healthier and reducing the obesity crisis the country
is dealing with.
So from purely a weight-loss perspective, here
are a few psychological and emotional ‘tripwires’
to look out for to help you make your most
amazing year ever. Recognising them will help
you smash through the feeling that life somehow
gets in the way, embrace life and whatever comes
with it, and learn how to manage your life to keep
you on track. Believe me when I say that the end
result is so, so worth it.
When you catch yourself saying these things, see
a big red flag waving madly in your head:
‘I’ll start on Monday.’ (Or after the holiday, or
party, or wedding – whatever the reason to delay
once again.)
‘That bit won’t matter.’ (Sometimes a thought
that is encouraged by friends and family who
