Several members of the Swan Hill
Astronomy Group journeyed to Casper,
Wyoming, to observe the total solar eclipse
in August. Jenny used a Canon EOS 500D
camera and 400-mm lens on a Vixen
Polarie star-tracker mount.
S CLUSTER VS GALAXY Michael Sidonio
Globular cluster 47 Tucanae is about 13,000
light-years from Earth, while the Small
Magellanic Cloud is far more distant at about
200,000 light-years. Michael captured them
using a Takahashi FSQ-106EDX4 telescope,
Takahashi NJP mount and FLI Proline PL
16803 camera with Astronomik filters. Total
LRGB exposure was 132 minutes.
