fter roles in Alias and Daredevil,
Jennifer Garner knows a thing
or two about gruelling ight
scenes and stunts. Even so,
after the birth of her three kids,
she had to follow a dedicated
regimen to shape up for her new movie
Peppermint – or as she calls it, a ‘recipe for
turning a mum back into an action lady’.
Rule number one? Keep things fun. ‘If you
can ind a workout that makes you smile, do
it!’ says Jen, 46, who called on her long-time
friend and trainer Simone De La Rue, who
founded the Body by Simone system. ‘It’s
a dance cardio, weights, trampoline, all kinds
of diferent things, really fun, high-energy,
super hard, but you can do it, workout.’
Jen’s also sporting some seriously toned
guns! ‘We knew that we needed to look like
an action igure. So obviously we needed to
target the arms,’ Simone explains, adding that

JEN’S BEETROOT CHIPS
Try this ‘naturally sweet
and completely addicting’
recipe from the actress.
Slice some fresh beets
into extra-thin slivers, coat
them in olive oil and lay
them onto a greased baking
sheet. Sprinkle with salt
and then pop them in
the oven for one hour
at 120°C. Enjoy!
