Christopher Kafer showed off some pics of his sweet ’15 Ford
Ranger PX XLS to take out the top spot in this month’s Readers Rigs
comp. Chris has owned his beaut ute from new and has shown her
plenty of love.
Before rolling out of the dealership Chris’ Ranger was given the
full protective treatment include steel bullbar and 9000lb winch,
rear bar, side steps and brush bars plus a set of underbody bash
plates and full canopy.
Lighting is looked after with a set of Xray Vision 220 LED spotties
and a 24” Xray Vision lightbar, while a Ford factory snorkel keeps
Chris’ ute breathing freely and a set of Rhino Rack roof racks were
tted up top, which were eventually swapped out for a Rhino Rack
Pioneer rack.
An Icon Vehicle Dynamics suspension kit with Blackhawk upper
control arms was tted, offering an additional 2.75” of clearance to

make way for a set of KMC Heist rims and 32” BFG K02s. Also, a set

of Clearview mirrors and storage drawers were installed to house a

40L Engel fridge on a MSA slide plus recovery gear and compressor.

A Baintech panel monitors the Ranger’s vitals and a voltmeter is

used to keep an eye on the 12V system’s health. Chris was initially

running a Steinbauer Power Module but has since opted for an

Agritune remap.

Chris went ahead with installation of a Superior Engineering

fuel tank, diff and suspension shock guards plus a brake controller

and REDARC gauges, while a GME UHF and aerial look after

communications.

As we all know every great 4WD is a work in progress, and new

upgrades include neoprene seat covers, Rhino Rack awning and

a complete LED Lighting Australia light upgrade. Full marks for a
