HOW I DID IT
Every time I drive past a scene
where there has been a fatality
and people leave flowers as a
sign of their grief, I think of how
fragile life can be. I wanted to
portray this expression of grief in
my image showing all the floral
tributes and the car lights as they
pass by. I set up my camera on a
tripod and using a cable release
I took several images as the
cars passed. Two of these were
merged to give the effect of more
than one set of tail lights.

I love doing macro shots so I
waited patiently for this protea

position so I didn’t use a tripod.
