HOW I DID IT
I took this shot for a macro competition for
my local camera club. I had the rose in a
vase on my kitchen bench and I used the
available light coming from the kitchen
window. I’m not good at using my macro
lens so I thought I’d give it a try and I
was quite happy with how it turned out.
I love taking any sorts of shots, but I find
macro is one of the hardest categories.
I know in flower photography you’re
supposed to use unblemished flowers,
but there was something about this that
I liked. In Photoshop I did a little contrast
and levels and cropped a lot out of it. I also
put slight vignetting around the image.
