is determined by what you think about
and how you feel. This all sounds simple
enough, and in many ways it is. However,
actually putting it into practice can be
a little more challenging.
To start with, establish why you want
to manifest this into your life. No matter
what it is – a pay rise, to lose weight, to
travel overseas – ask yourself why you
want it. Usually your first answer won’t be
the real reason. So with each answer ask
yourself why again, and again, until you
get to the core of it, which will be more
about feelings than a logical or practical
answer. Get really clear on the why first.
Next, how to manifest. Let’s use the
example of wanting to manifest an amazing
relationship. To do this you need to match
the vibration of an amazing relationship,
which means you need to change your
vibrational state to that of someone

already in an amazing relationship. See
the challenge? Naturally, your logical
mind will jump in with, “But I’m not in a
relationship now, so how can I possibly feel
that way?” This is where the practice comes
in. You need to convince your mind and
body that it’s already taking place. 
Take the time to close your eyes and
imagine or visualise that what you want has
already occurred – you’re in an amazing
relationship. Make it as vivid as possible
and include as many senses as you can.
What would you be doing with this partner?
What would they say to you? But most
importantly, how would you feel having
this person by your side? Feel as if it’s
there in your reality right now. Stay in that
space as long as you can with all of your
senses. Now, here’s the clincher: feel the
enormous gratitude you have for being
in this incredible relationship as if it were
really occurring right now.
Afterwards, go about your day feeling
that whatever you are wanting to manifest
is already a part of your life. Whatever you
do, don’t meet up with a girlfriend and
complain about being single! You need
to maintain that frequency in order for it to
appear in the physical reality you live in.
Researcher and author Dr Joe
Dispenza describes manifesting this
way: Thought is the electrical frequency
and feeling is the magnetic frequency.
Thoughts send the electrical impulse
out into the universe and feelings create
the magnetic pull of the frequency or
vibration to you. Manifesting requires
both of these factors to be in harmony,
that is your thoughts and feelings match. 
Make this a daily practice so that every
day you’re changing your energy to match
the energy of what it is you desire. Just a
once-off visualisation isn’t likely to bring
what you want. If it helps, create a vision
board to keep focus. When you see your
vision board, bring back the feelings of
how you feel having this in your life.
Keep in mind your main job in this
process is to focus on what it is you want
to manifest and what that feels like, not
how it will come to you. Our brain is usually
quite logical and limiting when it comes to
how. It looks at the past and what it already
knows and tries to infer a method from

that. If we haven’t created this before, then
our brain will start finding all the reasons
this can’t occur in the future. When these
thoughts creep in, go back to thinking
about what you want and let go of how.
The how is up to the universe, which is
far more intelligent than we are, so trust
that you will get what you need.

I’m going to get?
The feeling that you are creating your life,
not that life is happening to you. It gives
you the opportunity to explore what you’re
spending your time thinking about, how
you feel about what’s going on in your life
and how those thoughts and feelings are
playing out in what your life looks like. 
This self-reflection can bring about
more clarity on how you want to feel
and what is really important to you as
you move through life.

Q Do I need to have
a dose of reality, too?
The majority of us tend to impose very
tight limitations on what we think we can
manifest in our lives. We’ve been given
a particular prescription on how life works
and what we can expect from it. Get a
good education, get a good job, work
hard, earn some money, buy a house,
have a family, save for retirement to
enjoy your twilight years.
When it comes to wanting more, some
people will tell us that what we truly want
is unrealistic, and they’re right. We don’t
have what we desire in our reality right
now, so of course it’s unrealistic. But that
is where the challenge and the beauty
of manifesting lies. It’s a challenge to
break away from the habitual thoughts,
feelings and sayings we have about life.
Thinking, feeling and doing the same thing
is only going to create what we already
have. As Dr Dispenza says, we have to
break the habit of being ourselves! And
remember, there’s nothing wrong with
dreaming. So dream big!
