EAT

VLAAMS FRITESHUISE
VLEMINCKX
(Vleminckx
desausmeester.nl)
A hole-in-the-wall eatery
in the centre of town,
Vlaams is where you will
find ‘the best fries in
Holland’. Opt for the
triple threat: peanut
satay, mayo and onions!

VEGAN JUNK
FOOD BAR
(Veganjunkfoodbar.nl)
Vegans and non-vegans
come together in the
newly opened Vegan
Junk Food Bar that
serves deep-fried
goodness like it never
even went out of
fashion.

OLIEBOLLEN
Also known as Dutch
doughnuts, these deep-
fried balls of goodness
are the afternoon sugar
pick-me-up you didn’t
even know you needed.
In my opinion, the best
oliebollen in town are
from Banketbakkerij
Lanskroon (Lanskroon.nl).

The Netherlands is home to

many incredible secret cities

The Hague is known around
the globe as the centre of
world peace, home to the
International Criminal Court
and Peace Palace. However,
beyond the politics and into
the early evening, you will
see this city come to life as
a mecca of al fresco dining,
gastro pubs and city lights.
Delft, on the other hand,
is quiet, quaint and impossibly
charming. Just a 30minute
tram ride from The Hague,
Delft has quickly fasttracked
its way to becoming one of
my favourite small towns in
all of Europe. Characterised
by canals much smaller than
those in Amsterdam, this city
is like a movie set. With an
abundance of cafes, vintage
clothing stores and antique
shops, you’ll be feeling more
local than ever the second
you arrive. Turn up with no
plans whatsoever and enjoy.
Commonly referred to as
the ‘cooler little cousin’ of
Amsterdam is nearby Utrecht,
reached in just a little over
half an hour by train. Utrecht
is best discovered on foot and
will soon make itself known
to you the further you explore.

THE
LEGENDARY
AMSTERDAM
FLOWER
MARKET.
