After a recent adventure, I realised
which yogi goodies I just can’t live
without. These are on the top of
my packing list for any future
yogic explorations.

Coconut oil
Oh, sweet coconut oil! You can use it in food prep,
on your skin as a moisturiser or as lip balm, or for the
popular practice of oil pulling. And the health benefits
are endless.

Tongue scraper
This might seem a bit ‘extreme
yogi’ but I never leave home
for a night without my tongue
scraper. Since integrating this
Ayurvedic technique into my
morning hygiene routine, I
haven’t looked back. You can
buy them from most health
food stores or online at
http://www.empind.com.au, $9

Thermos – Sipp stainless
steel vacuum insulated flask
I’m seriously smitten with this
Thermos Flask. It’s lightweight
and easy to travel with, and
keeps liquid hot or cold for
hours. Perfect for preparing your
tea the night before an early start.
http://www.thermos.com.au, $44.99

Sarong
So many uses for the trusty
sarong. I use it as a wrap for
warmth, a picnic blanket, a towel,
a yoga mat and a pillow when
travelling.

Sahaja - Yoga Mats
I’m sure I’m not the only yoga teacher who has a pile
of yoga mats in the car ‘just in case’. So, of course,
the yoga mat is a travel essential. My favourite at
the moment are Sahaja eco-friendly mats - with fun,
colourful prints and a microfibre surface. They’re $127 at
http://www.sahajayogamats.com. They also have a Light Giving
program - which means they keep giving beyond the mat!

Stevia
I always carry a bottle of
stevia with me when I
travel, so I can skip the
sugar wherever I go. Grab
a bottle from your health
food shop — I always opt
for the powdered product.
