You can say a pre-flight prayer for extra protection:
God and Goddess, Hear my prayer
Guard my journey, Through the air
Troubles few, And travel smooth
Ease my path, And spirits soothe
From the time, I leave the ground
Keep protection, All around,
Landing gentle, At the end
Guard me till, I’m home again

orried that you’ll get lost, not get
the experience you want, or make
bad choices about things?
Hecate, the traveller’s Goddess with three
faces, can help. Ring a white candle with
a silver necklace and poppy seeds. Light
the candle and say: ‘Hecate, hear this
traveller’s plea, At each cross-roads
my guidance be.’ Wear the
silver necklace throughout
your travels and scatter the
poppy seeds at a T-junction.

M

editate at the Full Moon
before your departure to
activate your inner Goddess.
See yourself as a shining
magnet for inspiring experiences
and interesting encounters. As
you do, press your left thumb
and forefinger together seven
times. Whenever you need to
re-boot that magnetism, close
your eyes and repeat the
thumb and forefinger
movement.

Find your way

D

ecide what it is
that you want
from your holiday,
and ask your Goddess
to show you the
way – she has many
manifestations...

Greek Artemis, Lady of the Wild, can take you
on the ‘road less travelled’. She protected
the beasts, and guarded her independence fiercely. Her
symbol is the bear and bow and arrow, so wear a necklace^
or brooch depicting one of these. Wear jasmine and^
moonstone, go into moonlit woodland and ask^
for her inspiration. Show special kindness to wild
animals to get her onside.
Egyptian Bast brings you playtime.
Daughter of Ra, the Sun God, she
accompanied him daily. Dance, sing and play the
tambourine, imagining cat-headed Bast capering
alongside. Wear cat earrings or a brooch and/or^
tiger’s eye. Catnip is her herb, but any spicy^
fragrance will do. Look after cats and Bast will^
turn your holiday into one long party!

The Greek Goddess
Athene is patroness of
the Arts and wisdom. She’s your
friend if you want to learn about
local culture. Her symbol is the owl,
so wear this along with coconut body
lotion, as you walk in cultivated land,
asking the Goddess to open your mind.
Be fair and impartial for her favour.

Roman Venus is the one to ask for foreign
romance. She was born from the sea, and
was so beautiful no God or man could resist her. Her
symbols include doves, swans and roses, so wear^
jewellery showing these. Sit on the beach imagining the
Goddess approaching you. Carry a turquoise tumble stone^
as you ask for love. Respect your body and
look your best for Venus’ approval.

Chinese Kuan Yin, Goddess of compassion, brings
tranquillity. She sacrificed the bliss of Heaven to look^
after mortals. To relax, sit by a serene lake and ask Kuan Yin to^
bless you with her divine dew. Wear images of dolphins or lotus^
flowers to get on her vibe, along with floral perfume and pearls.^
Be gentle with kids to show you’re in harmony with her wishes.^
