KXGOESBUSH
THIS MONTH Ihave managed to
get by with no more fl at tyres. I
haven’t been doing any races
because, once again, all the
events have been called off
around Newcastle because it
won’t stop raining.
Even the local ride park has
been closed nearly every
weekend. Surely I’m not the only
one who feels like we have had an
insane amount of rain this year?
Anyhow, I have still managed to
get in plenty of riding. I have run a
few coaching schools where I get
to cruise around all day on the
KX250F helping riders. This is
always a great chance to get out
on the bike and do some riding
without the pressure of racing.
Everyone is well and truly worn
out by the end it, especially me.

and was quite enjoyable. While the
suspension was a little on the firm
side for trailriding it actually
worked quitewellarounda
special test track we have set up
in the middle of the bush.
The KX250F was loads of fun
around that track. It is light and
nimble andthepowerisstrong
enough to blow through the sand
berms while still easy to handle in
the tight singletrack sections. The
only annoying part was not having
a sidestand and having to

It’s something that never
bothered me as a kid when we
spent all day every weekend and
every afternoon after school

my time with the KX. It will be a
shame to see it go but it’s almost
time to move onto something
new. I haven’t got any plans to do
anything new to the KX250F from
here on out, apart from keeping
up the maintenance and doing
plenty more riding.
