• APA style asks you to break lengthy DOIs or URLs after a slash or
before a period, being sure that your program doesn’t insert a hyphen
at the line break.
The APA Manual is also your best resource for formatting references
to other nonprint sources. You should know that certain nonprint sources
you are likely to rely on in your research in the social sciences — interviews
and focus groups, for example — do not have to be included in your list of
references. Instead, you would cite the person you interviewed or the focus
