Lime Tree Café is now open

at The Springs Souk

I

f you’re a fan of Lime Tree Café and live

in The Springs, you’re in luck as there’s a

brand-new branch of the popular eatery

now open in the area.

The Springs branch of the homegrown café

is open daily from 10am until 10pm in The

Springs Souk and it looks good.

The menu is packed full of tasty dishes for

all diets, too, including new vegan and gluten-

free eats and a new range of salads, such as

Italian crunchy vegetable salad with a lemon

and maple dressing.

Stars on the menu included roasted

vegetables with turmeric, herbed couscous

and feta, a gluten-free bowl with kale,

edamame, avocado and halloumi, and

braised New Zealand beef benedict with

Parmesan-baked hash-brown, organic free

range poached egg and hollandaise.

Of course the café is famed for its desserts,

and as well as the popular carrot cake, there’s

a roasted apricot and pistachio tart on the

menu that’s making our ears prick up.

And in even more exciting news, this new

store features a bakery window.

“Customers can pick up cakes, slices,

brownies and tea cakes – if they’re

entertaining at home, they can just whip into

the mall and pick up what they need,” said

a spokesman for the team. There’s even a

new range of gluten-free and vegan cakes,

including banana with caramel swirl and

crushed walnuts, carrot cake with coconut

frosting and peach and lemon with citrus

frosting – yum.

And the chain is also aiming to be

completely plastic-free in takeaways – so

everything from bags to cups and coffee lids

is biodegradable or compostable. If you bring

in your own cup, you’ll also get a discount on

your drink. We love a good green cuppa first

thing in the morning.

The homegrown café brand, which first

launched in Jumeirah 1 over a decade ago,

currently has three branches across the city.

In addition to the original, you’ll now find

outlets in Al Quoz and in Al Safa, along Sheikh

Zayed Road (opposite Gold & Diamond Park).

Now pass us a slice of that carrot cake.
