starboard, and an all-round white light. Although
they all worked, the brightness was woefully
inadequate. It was virtually impossible to confirm
they were working during daylight.

TIME TO UPGRADE
In 2017, fully-sealed LED lights are the way to go.
In fact it is becoming increasingly difficult to find
any other type of unit for sale.
The first thing to check with new navigation
lights is that they are of the correct colour
(wavelength) and intensity. Recreational boats
generally require lights that are visible from at least
