Rick and Patricia were fantastic
teachers, and our little group of
artists used to meet once a week
in a shed by the Leichhardt River
for a morning of art. It was fun.
A family-owned Italian restaurant
and coffee shop in town offered to
display the works of local artists,
so I bravely took some of my first
paintings there. You can imagine my
profound surprise (and shock) when
I got a telephone call to say that one
of my paintings had sold! Despite
having sold a number of paintings
since, I am still very much a hobby
artist. Perhaps I might posthumously
become ‘rich and famous’!
I do exhibit my work in local
art shows and competitions. I
even won second prize in the
Mount Isa Show one year.
I work mainly in acrylics,
